Review: Trigger Your Child’s Curiosity About Other Countries with Pacca Alpaca Travel Playtime App

Traveling is great!  Visiting other countries and learning about other cultures is what I enjoy the most. Sadly since our family increased we slowed down on our attempts of going abroad. The tickets and hotel prices bite when you have to plan a trip for four.

Hey! No bad comes without good. The ruble collapsed (so sorry for my friends living in Russia) and we booked a plane to our minority language home country!  My kids were super excited and started putting together a list of what they wanted to see and do in St Petersburg.

Would you imagine that 3 and 5 years olds are able to make a list on their own?
Apparently the learning activities we have been doing gave them ideas of what they should do and see.

You can not just open a city guide and start reading it to your child. Whatever knowledge my kids had about the city they were going to for the first time, came in bits and pieces from what they have heard, seen, read to.

Pacca Alpaca - Travel Playtime App , that I was asked to review, can help you to trigger your kid’s curiosity in learning about other countries and cultures. There are 23 countries presented and more will be added in the future.

Best learning comes when kids have fun, right?
It is the right moment to start an educational conversation. Like this: “You spotted Alpaca closed to a pyramid! Do you know why people built them? and where?...”

If you are raising a bilingual or multilingual child, you could use this app together and work on developing your child’s vocabulary in the targeted language, by naming what you see, conversing with the child.

Would you like your child learn Flags of different countries? This App will help you in this task too. A country flag appears after an activity and you will hear a sweet child’s voice naming that country.

Pacca Alpaca Travel Playtime Educational App is created for your 2-6 year old kid’s entertainment. If you have two kids and one iPad - the fun doubles! Many activities are great for collaborative work, especially Stickers Fun game (see the description below).

There are more than 50 early learning activities that will keep your child occupied for a long time, if needed. Great for trips. The app interface is simple and intuitive, so not much of parents supervision is needed. There are no in-app purchases or third party ads, so you can let your child play with it with a peace of mind.

What can your child do with Pacca Alpaca Travel Playtime App?

From the well designed activity carousel your child can choose:

Jigsaw Puzzle

My kids love doing puzzles and these digital ones are the absolute hit with my 4 year old.

Drawing

You are given a simple picture representing one of the countries. Your child can draw over it, add more details using 20 color palette. She / he can choose thickness of the lines and tools for drawing, such as paintbrush or pencil.

You child can take as much time as he needs to finish the activity. To move into the next one he just needs to press a check mark button. Then the country flag and Pacca Alpaca appears for a moment and you are back to the activity carousel.

Dot-to-dot

You need to connect the dots for a beautiful landmarks to appear.

Stickers fun!

This is my older child’s favourite.

You have a choice of stickers to add to a landmark. You can turn them, make them bigger. It is all up to you!

My kids were laughing out loud while finding odd places for stickers. They attached a bow to the Tower Bridge in London. I wonder if they will remember about their monkey tricks when we see it in the real life. :)

Hide and Seek

Travel the globe with Pacca Alpaca and friends and pay attention. It gets crowded and so hard to find friends!

Who can find Pacca Alpaca wearing a baseball cap on a busy street in NYC?
It is time to go home, but a poodle got lost near the Louvre Pyramid...

Spot the difference

Good game to train kids to notice the difference. There are 4 pictures presented and you need to spot the odd one.

Building Blocks
Kids can be creative with building blocks. It is up to them how the landmark would look like.

Big plus to the creators, my Russian speaking kids connected a picture of the St. Basil’s Cathedral with Russia the moment they saw it.

I spy

When a magnifying glass appears with a picture you need to search for this item on the page.

I am telling you, It was not that easy to spot all the coins in the Trevi Fountain in Rome!

If you are like me and always looking for opportunities to add some extra work to those little brains, ask your kid to count those coins as well. Fun and math exercises combined!

The app also has the protected area for Grown-ups, where you can read more about Pacca Alpaca apps.
